Way too stiff. That sounds like a max load. I use 80 grains of 3F for hunting and that will go completely through an elk's chest at 60 yards.

You will want to find the patch/ball/powder that gives you the best accuracy.
 
That load you mentioned sounds more like a max load. Both of my .54 GPRs give me one ragged hole at 50 yards using a .530 ball, .018 pillow ticking patch lubed with Ballistol oil and 80 grains of FFg Goex. It shoots good with FFFg, but FFg give me a tighter group. It's a good hunting load, yey mellow on recoil. A real pleasure to shoot :thumbsup:
 
I use Hornady .530 balls over a pillow ticking patch and 80 grains of FFg Goex.
 
my GPR loved 110-120gr pyrodex RS, .018 patch and .530 round ball. 1 1/2" groups @ 100 yards was easily done.
