I think I can come up with a Lyman GPR flint kit for $270.
I already have a GPR caplock that I built from a kit, and it's a great rifle.
My question is, do you have good or bad things to say about the GPR flint?
Thank you.

Good day sir,

Just sold a GPR flint rifle that I put together from the kit about 2 months ago. A -- decent -- gun. I was not real impressed with the lock inletting. Flash hole was off center (from stock to muzzle) and was a bit low. The GPR lock was meadiocre at best. Lock would take on a lot of water in the rain (imho). I sold the factory lock on Ebay and got an excellent L&R Replacement lock from Track of the Wolf that I inletted to the barrel (took very little work to get it in). Raplacement lock had much hotter sparks and looked more the part of a plains rifle from that time frame. Good luck w/ your GPR. :m2c:

I am just putting the final touches on a GPR .54 Flint

5 Coats of LMF stain
12 coats True oil
8 Coats LMF Browning Agent
Fire blued all screws and small parts

Over Kill======= Heck yes
Worth it I think so

Last one I built
I opened the box, slapped it all together
spray painted it black (done in 2 hours)
Shot cloverleafs at 50 yds one hour later

GPR a cheap rifle that offers big bang for the buck

GPR trigger and lock quality best described as functional

IMO very functional- buy it, build it, shoot it

ENJOY
