Colleagues,

Late post on this one, but I have had a GPR flint for many years,
a kit, in .50 cal, and it used to win matches for me at the
MMan get togethers, when I still had good eyes.
It now has a chambers vent liner, and the TC hammer swap.
I did have to polish and stone the lock and frizzen pivots
to get a hot spark.

I thought the kit was pretty easy to assemble and finish, but
I did take a lot of wood off with rasp and sandpaper.
I blew the bedding of the barrel breech and tang, so it ended
up with MicroBed under the tang and behind the breech.
It doesn't show, and it may have helped accuracy.

Just press on, and build the rifle.

...Wow!... With all those great reports I'm getting the itch to purchase one for myself... I've always used T/C's and have always wondered about GPR's... they certainly are a sharp looking rig... Thanks to all contributors...

i bought a .54 gpr kit as my first black powder rifle . it was easy enough to assemble . the rear sight that came with mine fit way too loose < would fall out if you held the gun sideways > so i just spent a few bucks on a rear site at my first rondy and have been using it for 3 years now with no problems that I can blame on the firearm . my most accurate load is 55 gr of ff triple 7 . this hits right where i aim it out to about 50 yrds . double that (110) and it hits right where i aim it at 100 yards .

Really? Is yours a flintlock?
