I want to put the primitive sight on my GPR that comes with the gun. The fit is extremely loose. How can I correct this?

I pinged mine in place using a punch. I centered the site on the barrel and then hit the edges of the groove until it was bent down enough to hold it in place.

I din't want to touch the doevetail on the barrel, in case I wanted to switch to another sight some other time.

Easy alternative is to flip the sight, then use a punch to dimple it. Done deal without damaging the barrel.

I ran into the same problem when I installed the primitive sight on my GPR. The sight supplied by Lyman couldn't be used because it was so small it would easily slide thru the dovetail. I contacted lyman with the measurements I needed and they sent me a replacement that was a correct fit.

You're getting good advise from the others on fitting the rear sight but I recommend ordering new sights. I have several GPRs and never liked the front or rear sights Lyman provides. The front sight is too wide IMO and I get better accuracy with a narrower front sight. I like German silver front sights. I prefer a semi-buckhorn rear sight that I can file my own groove into. I never liked the groove cut in the factory Lyman sight. I ordered mine from Track of the Wolf. They have a good selection of sights.

Just called Lyman about the sight that came with my kit and they are sending out a new one. If you do call in for one make sure you have the serial number of the gun or the name on the inspection label on the box. They asked for that when I called.

Thanks for all the advice. I have already contacted Lyman in the past and they did send me a new sight and I had the same problem.
