I know alot of people have greased their mocs myself included.

Does anyone grease their leggings and with what?

Thought of doing it but could turn into a mess.
I usually use 50/50 deer tallow/bees wax on my mocs.

I use a mixture of beeswax and olive oil. it seems to work well. I used to use leftover bacon grease but decided that the salt was probably bad for them, and I didn't really want to be bear bait (we do a lot of patrols and sleeping in the woods)
cheers,
Pat

I would NOT grease my leggings. The leather can't breathe as well/at all and the effect is like wearing plastic bags on your legs. I would smoke the leather (braintan or commercial tan) heavily instead.

i grease my leggings on a regular basis. i haven't noticed a sweating problem with them anymore than i did when i didn't grease them but it sure keeps the leather from cracking open and making hole in them. mine get pretty ripped up by the wild rose bushes i hunt in regularly. i suppose it's up to the individual. my legs don't get wet when going through tall weeds and grass in the morning dew like they used to when i didn't grease them. i also grease my buckskin shirt. it's up to you i guess.

my leggings don't need any extra grease. From what gets on them from different animals, cleaning off my knife, my gun, or hands n just the oils from sweating in them seem to keep them plenty supple. I guess I wear them enough through out the year at different events n trekking around that they don't need anything extra. LOL the fronts are getting slick looking n a much deeper color then the backs of the legs

Well I'll give it a try. Got a couple of pair so if it does'nt work out they'll become bag leather.
Flies :shocked2: :shocked2: Hope not

I grease mine each time I eat meat with my fingers, handle something greasy,or clean my gun.I do clean them once a year by pulling them around the bark of a tree a few times whether they need it or not. They are braintanned smoked mule deer a little on the thick side and I have been wearing them now since 1996.
