Today I chirstened my GPR 50cal flinter. It has been a very slow year for me, but with today's snow, and alittle luck, I harvested this doe at 2:00pm this afternoon. One shot through the neck at 21 yds. I was out for 3 hours without seeing any
sign of deer, but then 4 does came runnig by and it was all over in a second. My rifle performed flawlessly!

Excellent job, RiverRat! This snow today had me climbing the walls at work wishing I was out there!

Nice pic, congrats on the doe! :master: You are making my stomach growl! I am gonna get some deer out of the freezer and fire the grill up tomorrow! :D

congrats that is about the size of the doe i got this year i wish i had a pic cause it was my first deer

Well done, Riverrat! I kept looking out the window today here in Berks Co. and all we had was a good, but unneeded, steady rain. Send some of that white stuff our way. Again, congratulations! :D

Congratulations RiverRat! Neck shots are good, they don't go anywhere an it saves meat. Especially if you like deer ribs on the grill. :redthumb:

congrats!!!! nice deer. i took my first flintlock killed deer this year with a shot to the neck as well. 45. ball to the center of the neck, lights out, fresh heart & liver!!!!!!

Nothing beats deer hunting with fresh snow on the ground. My first deer taken with BP there was about 4 inches of snow on the ground. When I woke up that AM I thought, "good tracking snow" but the deer did not run far enough to make tracking an issue. Ahhh, the magic of the 50 cal PRB :applause:
