Finally recieved my GPR kit in a .54 flint, as i was looking it over i noticed the tang channel was cut a 1/4" to long. For me to correct it, i would have to move it back, which would mean my touch hole would be at the back end of the pan, not to mention i will throw off the alignment of the 2 wedges, has anyone had this problem? :cursing:

Call to where you bought it and tell them the problem. If they offer to take the stock back and and replace it, do it. If they don't, send the whole thing back. I have had zero QC problems with my GPRs, but they are a few years old and it sounds as if Lyman's quality control has slipped a fair bit in recent years . . .

I just received my 54cal GPR Kit. The Tang channel on mine seems a little long. I haven't started doing any work on it yet, I'm waiting for some tools and inletting black. After carefully inspecting I did notice that my Tang inlet has a high spot were the machine screw goes through to the trigger assy and dosen't quite ine up, I think once I remove the high spot, the tang should drop in and everything will fit. That will be the first thing I address this weekend. If not I'll be on the phone with Lyman.
Good Luck
Rick

I bought mine from midway, ordered it before xmas and just got it now because of back order. I have to send mine back, cause there isn't anything i can do to make this right. Once they inlet it, thats it

Could you post a picture ? Also do the screw holes on the Tang line up properly. Mine are a little off and the Tang actully has to go deeper in the inlet.

Rick

I'am sorry rick, mine is packed up and ready for ups. yours does'nt sound to bad, if the holes dont match up fill them and re drill. Just picture the tang channel 1/4 " to long nothing will align right, the touch hole sat at the rear of the pan

Seems like a few of us have the same problem mine is getting packed up also because the tang mortice is crooked and the trigger guard mortice is also out of place. Mine will have a detailed letter in the box with reference to others with the same type of problems.

I bought mine from midway, where did you get yours, not that it makes any difference, they are all made in the same place, they might be a rushing these guns a tad bit, because they are on backorder everwhere, i waited a month for mine, and cause i sent it back, i think i'll be a waiten another month :cursing:

Mine came from Buffalo Arms. I am wondering how long it will take to get mine back also. Best of luck to you.
