Had a great morning at the rifle range. Good weather and fun shooting, but most importantly six people that have never shot a traditional muzzleloader can now say they have fired a flintlock, and one was a kid (about 12 years old). One guy had so much fun he asked where he could get one.

A great way to introduce folks. I got 2 guys hooked on muzzleloading shooting my 69 Cal during a Elk hunt, They followed me down the mounting to buy a rifle each

I frequently get one or two to try it, six is unusual. The best was when we saw a BS Troop out earning their shooting badges. We offered (there were two of us) and they took us up on the offer. One of us loading while the other coached. There must have been 15 or so, and severel came back for "second helpings". I usually carry some cards with my name and e-mail and if someone expresses an interest I give them one so they can contact me if they think I can provide any guidance. On the back of the card are the names and e-mail addresses of local muzzleloading/reenacting groups and forums.
