Anyone know where I might find a GM IBS barrel in 50 caliber percussion with a 1 in 70 twist. TOTW says to not expect one before August. Can't wait that long!

If you really need one bad, you can always go right through Green Mountian Barrel Co. Give them a telephone call or email them if you need information. The people there are excellent to do business with. Granted the barrel will cost you $20.00 bucks more, but I am sure they would have one in stock....

Thanks Roundball,
Already called Cain's Outdoor today. Have all barrels, (IBS) except the one I need.

Check with Fort Chambers (717) 2632223 in Pa. They handle the GM IBS barrels. Dont know if they have exactly what you are looking for. Closed Mondays.

Caygad about once a year the ibs drop in barrels come up someware and i start dreamen about a 58 drop in for my gpr,but the 1 incher is too big.youed think id just quit beaten myself up aftwer awhile, but next year the visions of a 58 will fill my head again till i realize it aint gonna happen. :: ::

I took my new .58 caliber Green Mountain out yesterday and shot it. What a nice rifle to shoot. Even with 90 grains of powder and a round ball the rifle was a pleasure to shoot. I have to work on the sights a little it seems to want to shoot low, but that is something I can manage.

Don't forget about, Dixie Gun Works; "www.dixiegunworks.com". There have been some good suggestions thrown out here. :applause:

Thanks Roundball!
Thanks Cayugad!

I guess that makes the GMB website provider "Chop Liver" eh' Wesley...lol

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. EVERY outfit listed has confirmed they are out of stock of this barrel including the barrel maker, Green Mountain. The only exception is Fort Chambers who has not replied to my email question yet. Looks like I'll probably just have to wait till they make some more.

ALTERNATIVE:

GM didn't even make a .58cal flint rifle barrel drop in for a 1" TC Hawken...had them make it...took 3 weeks...had Ed Cain at Cain's Outdoor to process it for me...

Got my .50 slow twist from TOTW last week. Don't know where they got it but I'm a'loveing it.
