Hello I'm Tilford from Indiana. I joined muzzleloader forum this fall but haven't had time to post anything. I got my first muzzleloader (a 50 caliber hawkens rifle) 6 years ago at age 12. I am now 17 and an avid muzzleloader shooter. I have done a few muzzleloader shoots and killed several deer with my muzzleloader including a 10 point buck (my biggest deer ever) which I killed this fall. I hope to do more shoots this year and go on more hunts with my muzzleloader. I love muzzleloading and want to get into it more.

Welcome to the Forum, Tilford from Indiana! :hatsoff:

It's good to have you here. No...it's GREAT to have you here! We often lament the dearth of young people in this pursuit. We are glad you have found us.

Welcome, welcome, welcome, Tilford. It's so good to have a young fellow like yourself here on the forum. Ask questions, share your own expertise and hunting stories. That was a good hunting story that you posted on the forum. Well, done.

There are a lot of great muzzleloading clubs in Indiana so you will have a lot of good folks with whom to shoot. Whatever you do, don't miss any opportunity to go to Friendship and never feel that you are not good enough to shoot in any of the matches. You may or may not win anything but you will have tons of fun and plenty of opportunities to learn from the best. You only need period style clothing for the primitive matches. For everything else, just wear jeans and a t-shirt or whatever your are comfortable wearing to shoot. Don't forget eye and ear protection as it is required for all matches.

Welcome to the forum.

I am hoping to go to friendship for atleast a day this year. I have went a time or two to watch but never to shoot but I have a friend who does shoots there and has a blast and would like to do a shoot or two with him.

Try the "woods walk", I think you will really enjoy that one. The Seneca is a hoot also. Take a look at it and give it a try. The worst that can happen is you will have a ton of fun. Wish I could be there to shoot with you.

Welcome to the forum good sir. About anyone here will tell you they're only regret in the muzzleloading world is not getting into it sooner. Here's to your early start :hatsoff:
