Another Howdy and Welcome from Texas.
My family moved from Mt. Hope at Rockaway, in Morris County, back in '71.
It was pretty there, with hills, trees, and woods to play in.
A power line easement that I rode on took me to the fence of Picatinny Arsenal. Cool!
I found air shafts for mines while out on my bike, but didn't get TOO close. This was back before cell phones, and I was usually alone. If I fell in, I'd have never been found.
It was also before the internet. Later, I discovered that these mines supplied iron ore that was used for the Continental Army in their fight for Independence.
We won that one.
I wonder who will win the next one?
