Ate a lot of "chuck" while growing up. Never figured the hide was worth the effort to tan. Next you will be tanning real hair on pig hide.

All kidoing aside, looks sharp.

The head is not used so unless you want the mask of something a head shot hog would be fine for the pouch. I started with a cased hide, mainly because I wanted as much red belly fur as I could get. Being overgrown tunnel rats most hogs seem to rub their belly fur off so even case skinning is not really needed.

that is very cool!!!! i shoot alot of groundhogs and that is a great use for the hide.

That's a great looking bag, for sure - but I'd never wear it hunting.

As densely-packed and naïve as the most of the muzzleloading nabobs around here are, it would most likely get me shot fairly quickly (plenty of idiots hereabouts shoot at noises and/or glimpses of dark fur).

That's pretty . . . I am not a varmint hunter, I don't shoot anything I am not going to eat . . so its nice to see the animal put to use in that bag.
Whistle Pigs don't eat the stuff that possums eat, so they're cleaner, and the young ones are quite tasty. You should try it sometime!

That would be my concern as well. I don't take anything with fur or hair on it out in the woods. There're too many idiots out there looking to shoot anything they can. Great looking pouch though, and making it does honor to its original owner.
