Don't know if this is the right place to post this ,if not please move it.I just wanted to thank all the reenactors and others involved for the great job at the Guilford Courthouse reenactment. It was held at three different parks in the city of Greensboro rather than the cramped style at most events. The battle was staged at a different park than usual which gave a great view of the battle.I'm sorry I didn't get to say hi to people that I have met through this forum but we had to cram all the activities into one day.On top of a great battle they also had living history camps and a few demonstrations.Got to see them present wreaths at the Nathaniel Greene monument.Sorry for bein' so long winded but the event was very impressive.Bein' from the Shenandoah Valley it's very refreshing to see history reenacted that isn't Cival War related(no offense intended to those guys). To all on the participants on the forum who were there ,Thank you very much. :applause:

Amen!

I enjoyed that one very much, but failed to meet any MLF friends. The event was so large that everyone was too scattered to find easily. There was a tactical on Sunday morning that was the best fight that I have seen. There was a setup of an infantry screen which led the Britis into a wooded lane with artillery at a bend in the lane. As the front line of British infantry came into the point of no return the canon fired creating a huge smoke screen and the continentl cavalry charged through the smoke scattering the British infantry quite nicely. (Yes, enough space was left in planning to keep anyone from being injured.) Then hidden Continental infantry advanced from the side to mop up.

Hey Crackstock,Sorry I missed ya.I did ask about your regiment at the camp, but nobody seemed to know where you were at.Like you said,it was spread out.Wish I could have caught the tactical on Sunday but we had to head home.Had a good time though.

Upside - Good turnout, good battles...
Downside - I never could find the rest of the MLF folks I planned to meet in person :(

Hey all,

just wanted to say thanks for coming out to the battle. This was my very first event for myself and my daughter and we enjoyed it very much even though it got quite chilly at night :shocked2: . I was fortunate to participate in the main battle on both days and while there were very few "casualities" on Sat. there were quite a few on Sunday of which I was one :haha: . I was with the Johnston County militia :hatsoff:  and like I said, it was a fun thing to do. My only problem was I did not get to the park itself :( . But fortunately, I only live 20 minutes away. Most people don't reaize the importance of the southern campaign in the Rev. War

Again, thanks for the kind words. It's words like that, that make me want to do some more.
