Nice, that blue muzzleloader reminds me of the blue carriages used on early French cannons...

That's what I was going after. My shot is the one on the outer rim at 1:00. I'm always happy putting a hole in someone elses trophy!

I think the question was valid. It appears that the men in the photo are dressed in period clothing for a reason. Perhaps they are trying to be "period correct"? Asking about ANY of the gear is valid, even if you know nothing about historical accuracy or don't care about it.

So, is there a reason the gun is blue?

Where did I say the phrase "Period Correct"?
Like Dale Brown said them guy were dressed the part I was just curious.

To the guy with the Blue gun.....Never mind answering it's not important I guess.
Thanks

:hmm: In sorting through a lot of stuff and such I have researched and stored in the last six months re: Matchlocks. I have found some pictures that do show that many matchlocks were painted---though I have not found one with blue---green and red seem to be colours that I have seen---albeit those colours were very muted as having faded through the ages. As far as blue colours in those days---artists certainly did manage to blend colours to get hues of blue for their painting. So if the colour is their it may have been used. I agree also regarding the diabolical term "PC", if Pat wanted to paint it blue, then I applaud his choice---Huzzah!!! :yakyak: BTW check this
Coloured Matchlock

I don't think that they had Rustolum Gloss Navy Blue, but that's the color I had on the shelf. The gun might be a little on the bright side of the color spectrum.

I certainly do like that blue matchlock. It's certainly unique, you must be darned easy to pick out in a crowd! :hatsoff:
