I used to have the luxury of a gun range at our vacation house.

How many are lucky to have it in the backyard state?

Or a club member like me now. We need a place to sight in and all you know. There's nothing public no powerline or sand pits.

I like the club I had both growing up.

I miss my range. You know

In the past. I've been banned from..
Fishing site
Shooting site
A rod building site

Whatever f them

I had fun getting banned don't get me wrong... I tried to proof read and spell check and all. Then it turns into a fight and your working fire for a month for revenge in some way..

It is fun

Like if it was here it would be the big HC of the place. I'd want to set them off to the point they get banned and at the same time being banned as well.. win win

It's like trapping

It's fun to set those little mice traps. Catch all the little ones.

Don't try to trap a mod or admin.. you can't trap them.

Over here all mice.. hc might know better and cheese isn't going to work lol....

Gets old.. kids stuff..

I guess I'm fortunate. Here in Pennsylvania the game commission has ranges on some local gamelands. I also am a member of a gun club only 1 mile from my house. If I didn't have those things, it wouldn't be quite as easy to go shoot.

Nice.

I had a nice metal teachers school desk.. couple sand bags. lawn chair.. made a wrack for the guns between two trees. it was nice 100 yards.. hill backstop.

My club now. They stock birds..100 yard range. I like to see one or two people there when i do go. So your not alone you know and make a friend but that's it I don't go on crowded days or times. It's 15 mins from my house.

Stock birds?

Pheasant. Every Saturday during the season they put out 55 birds I think

It's good because game lands are packed on the weekend but nice during the week... they stock the WMA game lands 3 times during the week.

I'll share a secret..

I put sticks in the gates to find out what side gets got stocked.

Or you turn the locks a certain way.. then you know the trucks been there since your last trip anyway

They do go in early I think... at night or something. Never seen the truck

They stock funny. begging of the season it would be like more early hunters Mondays morning. end of the season end of the week.. so they do try to Make it hard They change it up and the birds spread out a little so everyone get a chance

Funny.. it was good to know if you want to bring someone out couple guys...

it's just me so stick no stick I go... I pick up a lost bird on days they don't stock. For some reason. it's like scouting for birds..

Out of state was doing it wrong... they were tossing them to the army. Truck stockings during the day mid morning same day and time like set your clock. Everyones there waiting. They stopped that now

That's the best I can describe what this stocked birds and hunting them.

Other state s might be different.. In MI it was a club down the street and the cityits would go and buy 100+ birds for pictures and all.. they send allot of birds so you find them out there lost where I was... and the partridge is good

I am contemplating buying some land and building a house in rural western NC. One of the biggest requirements is if I can build a firing range of about 200 yards, with safe backstop. I'm currently in a small Ohio town with NO place to shoot!
Of course, given my history, I'd like to have a small (<2,500') grass runway and a 1.5-mile twisty sportscar racetrack, but honestly, I'm getting too old to race anymore! I can still pilot a plane, however; built 9 Experimental Aircraft.
Ahh. To dream is a pleasure!

I hunted NC. it's nice

Stayed in one of those old houses. You know those ones on the farms. They all leased it together.

Tuff to get in that group.. had to vote between 6 members. if just one says no it's no. everyone had to agree on whatever there problems are usually somone wanted to bring a friend or money.

It was flat where I was there.

They had a sand pit down the street.

I have a 230 yd. range in the cow pasture with dirt hills and junked freezers, washers, etc. for a backstop. I have to make sure the cows are in other pastures then close the gates and blaze away. It doesn't help my shooting any but it is convenient.
