I picked up a new 2004 Pietta 1858 .44 and a new or Like new 1974 FIE .31 Pocket revolver today (OH and two .54cal TC Renegades but that's another topic)..I can't seem to find any info on FIE pocket revolvers as far as a load or who made it etc..I know I will like the 1858 and I was really wanting a pocket revolver and I was excited when I saw these on a guys table so I just had to make him an offer and he took it.. Any info on the pocket would be appreciated..Thanks

From my very limited knowledge FIE have only used pistols made in Italy or the Philippines.

Probably made by Pietta if I were to take a wild guess.

Again just guessing here, but I would think probably 7-12 grains.

Good looking guns

generally around 10 grains... it dont take much powder to get that little ball a goin! I use 3 FFF
and that even helps a bit more. My .22 mag black powder revolver only uses 5 grains of 3 FFF.

I picked up a steel framed Baby Dragoon at a gunshow recently. It's awful cute, surprisingly loud and fun to roll a can around with. I made a taller front sight and opened the hammer notch rear sight up. I have a .323" mould but would like to find some suitable swaged balls as the sprues are a real pain to line up.

F.I.E. was an import company based out of Miami, FL. Many years ago I ordered one of thier catalogs. They handled BP and cartridge guns. I have a .22 SA that I bought in the 70's stamped FIE- MAIMI FL. I don't believe they are around anymore. I shoot 12 gr. 3F/ .320 ball in a .31 rem.

Thanks,Mine has FIE Italy on the bottom of the grip in the brass..I will try to get it out and shoot it but I really like it and it looks unfired and really is a tight little revolver..I have been wanting one ever since the first time I saw one..I wanted a steel frame one but maybe I can find one of them sometime in the future..

Ok,I gave the pocket revolver a try..I found 10 .312 balls in my junk box and cut down some .36cal wads and used 10g FFFG and #10 caps..I loaded her up and it loaded a little easy so it needs a little larger ball but it shot great at 12yds from a bench...I will measure the cyl and pick up some balls and wads for next time..I only shot it 5 times but I really like it..
I was aiming at 6 o'clock on the orange dot and it shot right a little..I worked on the hammer sight with a file and it should be closer to POA/POI next time I shoot it..
