Welcome from Stanly County, NC. Wilmington's a pretty cool town, especially for history. I spent some time out there last year for a grad school program.
Since you're into cannons, you should check out the Moores Creek reenactment just outside of Wilmington next month. Look for Kingsbury's Artillery and tell them A.J. sent you.
