Hair on shooting bag?

I've seen a couple but have never owned one. One of those that I saw was one that was thoroughly used and it was beginning to look like it had the mange. It had been a nice looking bag at one time but the wear on the hair sort of made it just look........well, ......ugly. But, I will admit that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Not to my taste but probably a thing of beauty to someone else.

Hair on or hair off, I think it is just a matter of taste and neither adds nor detracts from the functionality of the bag. If you have the hide and want to make a bag with the hair on it, go for it. If you make the bag and then decide that you don't like it for any reason, just put it on the forum and sell it to someone who would like to have a bag with the hair on it.

That is a cool vest. I made a quiver out of a deer hide with the hair on. It held up good. I might try the bag after all. Can't hurt.
