hi all, does anyone know if the barrel comes out of the square block that has the rear sight on it or is it one piece?? i also may need a set of barrel bands [3] and on a long shot, forearm wood. :dunno: it a cap conversion dated 1831. thanks all. mike

I think the barrel unscrews from the receiver. But it would be hard to remove from age and rust. Lodgewood, S and S firearms, and Gunderson antique guns might have parts? You may be looking for a long time….

Not on originals. I can't speak in regards to reproductions, but as originally made the barrel includes the square portion. The supporters are then screwed and forge welded onto it.

There is a guy on eBay parting out a third production Hall right now that would supply most of the parts you need. But they will be pricey.
