This is a well-balanced and lightweight .36 caliber custom halfstock rifle, perfect for small game or target shooting. It features a 32.25” x 13/16” barrel with a 1:48 twist and a bright, shiny bore. The barrel’s bluing shows thinning near the breech but remains free of rust.

The walnut stock is in great shape with only minimal handling marks. It has a 13.75” length of pull (LOP) for a comfortable fit. The rifle is equipped with an engraved Davis lock and set triggers, ensuring a crisp and reliable ignition. Weighing approximately 7 lbs, it’s easy to carry and maneuver.

This rifle is used but well cared for, making it a solid choice for a shooter or collector.

One issue to note: Small crack about 6” from the bottom of the ramrod. Personally, I’d replace the rod with another hickory rod or order a steel replacement from October Country.

I’m asking $650 (shipped). I accept most forms of payment.

Do you know who made the rifle? Also left side of stock appears to have a burned place across from the hammer?

I don’t; there’s no markings whatsoever to indicate a builder/manufacturer.

I’m sure you’re likely referring to figuring in the walnut or possibly some grease or grime. The area you’re speaking of is on the opposite side of the nipple/drum, so it’s illogical that there would be indications of burning there.

The top view photo, image 7535. Big black spot left of the barrel across form the hammer. If I enlarge the view it looks like it's burnt.
I don’t know what to tell you aside from the fact that’s simply not the case. I certainly see the discoloration you’re referring to, but it’s not singed.

I am SORELY tempted.
If I did not already have a nice custom .40 flint rifle on order to be delivered in 3 months or so, I would already have a check headed your way.
That rifle may cost me some sleep tonight. Since I have always been a poor sleeper anyway I can’t spare any. 🥺
DANG IT DANG IT DANG IT !!!

Same pattern on the left side of the breach in the same picture.

You mean the bit of fouling/discoloration at the top of the lock?

With all due respect, guys… you’re more than welcome to contact me via PM for additional photos or inquiries, but I’d ask that you please not use this thread as an avenue to pick the gun apart and potentially turn prospective buyers off. Thank you!

While not perfect, this is a great little custom piece that is well worth the asking price. If anyone has any reservations whatsoever, please allow me to ease any concerns you may have by addressing them personally.

I see this is marked SPF, but if that deal falls through I will buy the rifle.
