The one set of gun photos that I don't have a backup for is the one that I am useing as a model for the rifle that I am currently building. :cursing:

It was an old jeager with a beavertail cheek piece and minimal carving. Of course we can't remember where the photos came from!

Do you have any pictures with a beavertail cheek piece? I am trying to get the proportions right.

be glad to help . . . but I've only ever heard of beavertail forends, tang and sideflats finials and as soup. I spilled a beer on my laptop at home and it is not at all happy with me.

Thanks Stumpkiller-

I guess I will alway call them a beavertail cheekpiece...cuz my father and grandfather hated the term "Monte Carlo", and the first Hawken book I ever had said that Sam and Jacob invented it! :winking: So much for believeing everything you read!
