Got up early and decided to put a new haft on a old smallish hatchet I have. Picked out a stick of Ash from the woodpile. Split it an draw knifed it to shape. Bit of file work and then a scraped finish. Used some Fiebelings leather stain to dye the ash. Steel wool'd it and restained. Then a coat of colored wax. I soaked a piece of rawhide and fit it under the hatchet head....The baseball stitched it in the back. More leather stain...



Cut out and stitched a belt loop hammer...



Added the bit guard.

 
Nice little tool to carry around the woods - good job :thumbsup:
