I was at the Cody Historical Center in Cody WY last year and they had a Hawken rifle on display that was supposed to be the one that Liver-Eating Johnson took off Jack for real, not the movie one.

I wasn't aware that that was a real part of the story. I just assumed it was hollywood.
You can go to Red Lodge Montana and see his restored cabin at the historical center there.
They also have his 1886 Winchester in the little museum there from when he was sheriff of Red Lodge.
Or they did anyway. It's been quite a few years since I passed through there.
