Offering a very gently used Hatfield percussion rifle in 50 cal. This appears to be one of the earlier guns with a US made barrel and lock. No made in Italy marked components and a very nicely figured maple stock. A couple bumps on the stock, one under along the ramrod channel and one on top of the comb. Bison adornment on thumb rest and cheek.
Barrel is 39-inch -bright, shiny and ready to shoot. Browned finish is 95%+. Case colored lock with internals super-clean and show almost no wear. Double-set triggers work as they should, although I will note if firing unset the main trigger is quite heavy. Brass furniture is all bright and shiny. Ramrod is fitted with a hidden ball puller under the jag, made by the Hawken Shop. I recall there is some overlap in Green River Rifle Works, the Hawken Shop and original builders of Hatfield rifles in the mid-1980s and 1990s. LOP is 14 1/2-inches, overall is 55-inches. Gun weighs at 7lbs 13 oz.
Only detractor is underside of buttstock, where long storage or careless cleaning left a water mark on the finish. I have been able to buff most off with some wax, and possibly with some additional time and elbow grease the finish can be brightened further. I have done my best to photo those areas, but can be hard to see and even trickier to photograph.
Asking$900 $805 shipped in the US. Check or money order. PM for details.
