I'm looking for someone who can make this hawk for me.

MerriweatherLewisHawk.jpg

Beaver Bill Keeler, will build any pipe hawk, spike hawk, etc to order.

I don't have his card with me, but you could proably do a web search, I believe he has a website.

I've got a nice belt axe I bought at Dixon's last year. Beautiful work.

Here is it.... www.beaverbill.com
Hope this helps.

Ken Guy aka packdog is a good builder as well he makes some excellent ones ive watched his work improve greatly over the years some of the best hawk work i have seen

Very nice work ... but well beyond my budget for a tomahawk, and ability (I have none) as well! :hmm: :shake:

Just jump over to evil-bay. Quite a few of the pipe hawks listed are modern made, and still being listed as colonial era originals. Some of these "fakes" get purchased as originals, but many don't - and some go pretty reasonable. You might be able to get an already-aged replica that you can afford.

Something to think about.

Packdog is listed in our new "Trader's Row" (new forum, top of the list) :)

rickd,

While Beaver Bill makes museum quality repro's, he also makes working man items.

My belt axe was $160.

Also, realize that he is NOT using cast, ready made heads on his hawks. :nono:

These are hand forged originals made by Bill Keeler himself.
If you could just see one in person, handle it, you'd quickly see the quality.

:shake: only if you are willing to be ripped off.good forged hawks can be had for 50-80 bucks without the inlays and useless frills.but, prestige and to say look what i bought does cost a lot. :barf:

By the way Claude, I like the "Trader's Row" section, very nicely done. I'm giving it some thought.

Thank you. It's an experiment, so we'll see how it goes.
