A friend with doe tags invited me to hunt on Halloween so I grabbed my caplock and showed up. I got there late (about 9:00 AM) so rushed off to a ladder stand.
After sitting for only 20 minutes, a doe showed up with 2 others in tow. She must have sensed I was there because she took her sweet time entering a small clearing right in front of me. She was only 10 yards away so I aimed for the neck to avoid meat loss.
After the smoke cleared I saw her rear legs still working while she was on the ground. The bullet cut the carotid artery so there was a lot of blood.
