While out for the holidays, I finished up this .50 cal Hawken. Mostly, it was a collection of parts, but it turned out OK. I haven't fired it yet. As much as anything this posting is too see if I can get the pics posted.

Nice looking Hawken! I have a "collection of parts" I need to assemble one day....its only been about 20 plus years since I was at Friendship when Sharon Rifle Co went out of business. Jerry Cunningham was there with barrels of parts and I bought pretty nearly enough to build a Hawken. Also bought the last pistol barrel that Sharon made and that is on my left handed flinter. Good luck with yours. Emery

nice looking Hawkin, hope it shoots as good as it looks. good job  Now get out and SHOOT! SHOOT! SHOOT!

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the compliments. They mean a lot.

I've got another gun on the bench. It's a 20 gauge Type G English Trade Musket. I'll send pics when it's further along. This one will be my trekking gun, though I'm going to miss my old Brown Bess. They're hard to beat.

By the way, I changed my handle to River Runner to match up with another website I post on from time to time. Nowadays, I need to keep things as simple as possible.
