Not sure if anyone is interested or if this is even appropriate to post here. But there are quite a few interesting rifles in this auction. I'm not promoting the auction or have anything to do with it , but it sure would be neat to go and handle a few of them. And buy a few!

That is an amazing assortment of firearms, I'm tempted.

I notice one rifle, 114 may be loaded ! I must admit if I was to buy one I'd want to use it so I would buy 235 , A contemporary Flintlock Longrifle by Jack Brooks . For a collection of this quality to have contemporary makers in it is a great tribute to their gunmaking ability .
I like the patch box on Hawken 195 , I haven't seen that one in any of my books , also the 3 Hawken plains rifles have iron nose caps , only the light weight rifle has a pewter nose cap .

You know, those pages on each gun with pictures and text are a treasure trove of information. I hope someone more tech savvy than I will save them to a permanent file here under the title The Collection of Larry Ness. It took me a while to figure out how to get full screen view of all of the pictures supplied for each gun.

I looked up Larry Ness, he would qualify as a most interesting man. I would love to have seen his full American Indian collection and gun collection before any was sold and have him tell me the back stories on all the pieces.
