Very nice. What stain did you use. I am cooking some vinegar stain in my garage now in anticipation.

Really Very nice! you going to leave on the T/C iron/brass ? Fred :hatsoff:

nice....where did ya git the stock from....i got mine from pecatonica river fer my T/C..........bob

Beautiful! Yesterday I made the leap and ordered a walnut stock from Pecatonica for my TC Hawken.

It is a #3 Pecatonica curly maple stock. The finish is LM maple with a little Tandy black & D. Brown Pro Dye and 16 coats of min-wax tung oil. After it dryed I hand rubbed it with a mixture of Bees Wax and olive oil. The Furniture is black that was Rust Blued using LM browning solution. I have to agree, it will hurt to scratch it, however, thats why I used the tong oil, repairs are easy. It has been a very good learning experience. I will post more pics later.

#3 curly maple--WOW. That makes up my mind. That's a very nice piece of wood. Looks like there's a few of us with T/Cs upgrading stocks. And you know what, I like the way you used the T/C Renegade furniture to keep the original T/C styling. I may still use the iron furniture conversion kit from The Hawken Shop.

Which butt-plate did you use?

Sweet...Im starting to think I prefer the steal over brass furniture.

I think it is just as purty, just harder to work with! :hmm:
