Excellent and most valid point Bill! I would hate to see him "stub" his toe off of that purty wood! :cursing: It would almost be more than a man could bear! :redface: :shocked2: Get that toe plate on there pronto amigo! :grin: Then go put it up ina gun case .. cuz its much too purty to mess it up by doin anything foolish like firin it! :blah:

Thanks everyone, I just took it over to a friend who makes very high dollar modern rifles because I still have some personal issues with the finish. He felt it was very good and then gave me a class in professional stock finishing. I really can't wait to start on the next one to try some of his ideas. I will probably spell this wrong but things like wisping the wood prior to finishing and stain saturation. I want to reach a professional level of finishing. I will probably convert my T/C 54 as a next project and then the Ohio rifle. I will use a #4 curry maple on that one.
 
Ima thinking you mean "whiskering" the wood amigo! :thumbsup: And dont fergit to install that "toe plate"! :grin:
