I have alway been a fan of the Hudson Bay Co camp or buffalo knife. They are always out of my price range and they are just a tad on the grande size for everyday carry. But the massive blade, Heruculean rivets and washers have aways held an appeal to me. Needing a heavy duty take to work knife that will see more punishment in a week than most knives see in their life I decided on making a pocket sized camp knife. The blade is forged from 1084 and is 3 1/2 inches in length. Total length of the knife is 6 1/2. Totally legal for carry and within the ordinaces of Denver. I had to make my own brass rivets and inlet them flush in the ebony handles. I will make a sheath with a stud on one side so I can carry it between my belt and levis. This way I will be able to carry a little bit of my interest in the fur trade and my hobby to work with me.
