Sounds like the historic Hudson’s Bay Company stores in Canada are set to close up operations. Sign of the times.

More than 1.1billion in debt? Thats a lot of beaver pelts.
Everything is closing except the gobermint.
When my wife and I first went to Ontario, back in the 90s, I was so excited to drive through downtown Toronto to visit HBC. I had their address, and in my mind it was going to be the Mother Ship for outdoorsmen. The closer we got the more excited I became. I imagined Bass Pro x 10. We drove past the building a few times and the show windows had mannequins dressed in ladies fashions, shoe displays, and sets of dishes. Couldn't find a canoe, a stack of beaver pelts or a rifle anywhere. The best I could do was admire the very fine bronze placque on one corner of the bricks. Boy, was I ever disappointed.
No worries. Beaver’ll shine again. 
They've been in trouble for a decade or more, HBC meet Amazon!
