Heads up on Cold Steel.

I know a lot of you like Cold Steel hawks and modify them. Just a note that the company has been sold to an investment firm. It is possible that the hawks and some of the other items could be discontinued so it may be wise to pick one up if you were thinking about it. They have about a zillion products and I am sure that will be trimmed down some now. I think the axe line is popular enough it may not change. Can't say for sure about quality however. I am thinking I may get one to play with.

From this story it sounds like Lynn Thompson sold at a fair price, that he and Andrew Demko aren't going anywhere, and he looks forward to working with the GSM Outdoors. He says the new owners will bring levels of funding for new projects that would have taken him another lifetime to achieve. This could be very good news if you are a Cold Steel fan.

As a Cold Steel fan since the early '80s, this came as just one more sucker punch to the gut from the year 2020. I just pray they don't go the way of certain other famous knife brands of the past after they were bought out. In any case, I wish Mr. Thompson and the rest of the old crew at Cold Steel all the best.
