SOLD Heavy Scrimshawed 15 Inch Powder Horn

Heavily Scrimshawed 15 inch large Revolutionary War Motif powder horn. Excellent scrimshaw work and certainly one of a kind. Horn left in the natural, lobed in the old style, with a aged simple leather strap. Heavy engrailed edges with raised rings. Spout throat is five sided with flat squares. Plug is a stained natural pine and strap attachment at the plug is single lobed. Pinned with brass flush pins and a turned spout plug.

15 inches around outside curve. Will work either for a Left or right hand carry.

Plug diameter is 10 inches.

4 inches across butt plug.

Scrimshawed motif is layout of Ft. Washington. A lot of hours went into this scrimshaw work.

This horn will easily hold a pound plus of powder.

Not sure who built the horn. There is the letters J7 inscribed near the buttplug.
