Welcome from Huntsville!

I see you have a Walker! If you like shooting firearms from the American Civil War, check out the North-South Skirmish Association!

We are in the Deep South Region. Here is our web site:

All of our weekend competitions except one are at Brierfield Ironworks State Park, which is just south of Birmingham. The November skirmish is in Eva, TN. The next skirmish is August 25-27. You should stop by and visit and see what it's all about!

My team is the 4th Louisiana Delta Rifles. Most of our members live in Alabama. Nobody lives in Louisiana anymore. My team web site is:
https://4thla.weebly.com/
Most weekend skirmishes start Friday afternoon with "individuals" where you shoot at paper targets for score in whatever gun(s) you want. Saturday afternoon starts team competitions and we usually do carbine, smoothbore, revolver, and musket.

Thank you for the invite! I will definitely keep it in mind whenever I’m up that way.

Hey everyone, I have been exposed to black powder shooting since I was kid, but my knowledge only extends to a very basic level. Just enough to shoot a muzzleloader safely was about the extent of my knowledge. The last year or two I took a great interest in long range traditional muzzleloading and just black powder shooting in general. I found myself on this forum many times, and I have realized this place has a wealth of knowledge to offer. Soon I hope to add a long range target rifle to my line up, but I’ve had no luck finding anything yet.

Current BP guns are:
.54 Hawken style rifle
.54 Lyman Great Plains flintlock
.44 Uberti Walker
What part of Alabama you from?
