Hello all, I am a cowboy action shooter, and have a blast with it, but I also have always loved muzzleloaders, and Rocky Mountain fur trade stuff. I recently bought a Lyman Great Plains Rifle, .54cal, which I think has instantly become my favorite gun, and some clothes from the Rocky Mountain College Rendezvous last Saturday. (Wish I could have spent more time up there, I know I could have learned a lot) I met some guys in the Buckhorn Buckskinners club in Colorado, and they were great, invited me to come out and shoot with them. Im trying to put together a minimal rig, and plan to go shoot with them. I also have a SxS muzzleloading percussion 12g shotgun, which is really fun to shoot. Also have a few 1860 colt/piettas, and had a Walker clone that I sold. (still kicking myself) Had a Cabella's flintlock rifle once, I dont like to talk about it... (it didnt work well for me, I'm quite sure it was my fault and not the gun) Enough rambling, Hello!

It's always good to have people on board with diverse experience. It adds more perspective to the conversation. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the camp Vaquero.
If you hang around here very long, we'll not only convince you that the GPR is even better than you thought, but you will soon find that you have an uncontrolable urge to have another Flinter. (How about a nice .54 Flintlock for starters?) See? Another idea has been planted.
(My wife says we're a bad influence on each other, but I think if you stick with us, you'll find more fun than two grown men should be allowed to have.) ::

Thanks for the great welcome guys. I registered a month ago or so, then kinda forgot about this place. Now Im pretty excited about it though, seems like a very friendly bunch so far, and I have learned a lot already just browsing thru different areas. Great resource, hope I can help out.

Jeff
