Being a shooter for over 40 years now , I started blackpowder shooting in about 1980 with a Pedersoli " le Page " pistol . Since then , I'm fascinated of the precision which these muzzle loaders deliver .
Not too long after my debut , I started to shoot original vitage pistols , because I learned , that they are much more accurate built and also shoot much better than the average replica does .
Some time ago , I was lucky enough to purchase an old Ruggles underhammer pistol , sold by Hutchings Co , which caught my fascination since then , being kind of a primitive but extremely accurate gun .
So I decided to try my hands on building my own of these pistols , using only basic tools and old barrels , like our ancestors did , too .
