Hi! I recently got into BP shooting. History, especially our founding has always intrigued me. My daughter (8 yrs old) is big into history mainly between 1700s-1800s. Thought what a great way to help teach some our heritage. Seeing as how we live in an area that is rich with historical sites and such. Researched for months on how it works pertaining to the gun so I didn't blow my arms off. I bought a Lyman Trade Rifle. Whilst it isn't "traditional" from what I've come to learn, it was a starter rifle. I've been shooting for about a month and few weeks now and WOW am I hooked. I hope to eventually purchase a nice longrifle or a Leman rifle.
I've come across this site so many times in my research and thought it was time to sign up. I've learned so much that I've been able to pass on to my daughter some of the knowledge and to others at our local gun range. It seems I've always managed to form a crowd of onlookers. Anyways, I've lurked long enough that it's time to be courteous and say hi. So thank you guys thus far for the knowledge you've bestowed.

You certainly are in a fine location rich in history, glad to have you here.

Welcome to the forum. I don't know how far away it is for you, but the last weekend in April there is a Traditional gun show at the museum of Appalachia in Norris Tn. Last year my wife and I went and had a great time not only with the gun show but touring the museum as well. I highly recommend it...............watch yer top knot....................

2 hours actually. I live on the east side of Knoxville. I don't know too much about the Knoxville area other than a few reef stores I frequent. I'll have to check up on this museum. Thanks!

I gave you the wrong date for the Tennessee Kentucky Rifle Show. It is April 19-20th of this year. I would hate for you to miss it because I gave you the wrong day...................watch yer top knot...............
