New to black powder rifle shooting, just received a Lyman GPR and shot it for the first time yesterday. In the past I have enjoyed shooting WWII bolt rifles, and shoot some Hi Power Service Rifle competitively. I really enjoyed shooting the GPR and look forward to learning all I can about black powder shooting. I live in the Lubbock area and as far as I know there is not much interest in black powder in this area. Anyway I think I will enjoy this old way, new to me, of shooting sport.

When is the October shoot, it is not listed on the TMLRA web site nor the Swap Sheet?

Welcome to the forum! Traditional muzzleloading is definitely an addiction of the good kind. You made a good choice in getting a GPR for your first Traditional Muzzleloader. I love mine and it is a tack driver. Plenty to learn here. Ask all the questions to your hearts desire. Plenty of members will becon your call. This forum is the real thing. Nothing else out there even comes close. Again, welcome aboard. Respectfully, cowboys1062.
