I have a nicely built .50 cal Hawken-ish rifle made by K W Coulter in 1976.
The previous owner had no history on it, so I was wondering if anyone knew a K W Coulter or had ever heard of him.
It is in good condition other than having a repaired crack/break at the wrist. I forgot to get a closeup of that.
Has a Pete Allan lock, an unknown make 33” 8-groove (square bottom) barrel, and some really nice curl. Hammer looks to have been cut or broken and welded, giving the screw location a wonky look. And the barrel is bedded in the stock. Not familiar with the material.
Anyway, some pics:

I wonder if the hammer may have been a bit short and a wonky angle and was cut and re welded and re drilled to get a better angle on the nipple. I have an unfinished Hawken kit that was given to me with that problem with the lock.
