Welcome from upstate NY. You boys need to clarify "upstate." If you hail from Long Island or NYC, anything north of Westchester is viewed as upstate.

Those of us from actual upstate tend to consider the dividing line as north of Albany. 😁

Well i guess I'm a downstater In your book my friend. Not to discount the uniqueness of the north country - it sure is nice - but, culturally, where i live in Greene County has a hell of a lot more in common with you folks up there in the Adirondacks than with Westchester and points South! Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome from Loudonville. As far as the dividing line between upstate NY and down state I think you need to draw that a little further south. I am in Albany county which is a pocket of downstate. Kind of snowflakey. I have a place in Schoharie county and that just has nothing in common with the flatlanders down state. I used to live in Greene county(Greenville) and that sure was upstate.
Anyway welcome!!

I will concede that NY is a big place with a variety of geographic scenes, and lifestyle differences.

My experience is as a lifelong resident of northwestern Fulton County. I have a friend from LI who feels very out of place there, based on his interests and, I guess, his politics. Maybe "upstate" is more a state of mind, than a physical location.

I've been in parts of Green County where the OP is from, and it's not too different from my home area, visually anyway.

Hello from Indiana. What a great region you live in. Wow. Upstate NY.
When I was involved with F&I and Rev War activities that region was holy ground. Been through there many times. Starting near Saratoga, Fort Ti up to Lake Champlain. Ever since I was a youngster that region captured my attention.

Welcome

Welcome neighbor, I'm from nearby Saugerties. I've attached a list of Region 3 bp shoots if interested. Most Shoot start @ 1000 - Open sights – single projectile – Inlines included

That is a definite! Too many downstaters have moved upstate bringing their view points and attitude with them. My neighbor grew up on Long Island and worked construction all over NYC area and the Island. His family has had the land across the street from me for longer than I have lived here which is 40 years. He moved up full time 3 years ago as he could no longer stand the environment and attitudes. Tells me he hates going down even for the day to see his mom. He may sound like a downstater when he speaks but his views are definitely upstate.
