Thought I'd introduce myself. Been lurking for a few weeks and think this looks like a great muzzleloading site. I have been hunting, fishing, trapping, gunsmithing, etc... anything to do with the outdoors, for the last 20 years, I'm usually in. I have an uncle who got me interested in the muzzleloaders, he builds his own rifles from scratch (to include rifling his own barrels) and I've always admired his work. Well I've been bitten by the bug ever since shooting my first deer with a smokepole last season (50 cal roundball out of a T/C Scout carbine). Anyway, I've got several rifles in the works now, and plan on building myself a nice collection of longrifles for hunting and target shooting. Have the parts for 4 rifles right now, a 42" 45 cal, a 44" 50, a 48" 3/4" across the flats 36 caliber and a 32" 1 1/8-1" tapered 58 for an english sporting rifle...that one's going to be my elk rifle. Even picked up a sine bar rifling bench recently that was built in the early 80's and plan on doing my own rifling too...

Anyway, I look forward to learning AMAP from all the experience here and hopefully will be able so throw in some little tidbits every now and then also.

Best regards.

Thanks guys. I've always tweaked and smithed my own guns, but always admired my uncles rifles that he built... REAL craftmanship. If I can make a few even close to the quality he does, I will be very happy. The rifling bench just sort of showed up and it was too good of a deal to pass on.
