There are a few books out there that can answer your questions.

Alice Morse Earle's book, "Home Life in Colonial Days" contains a wealth on information on everyday colonial life.

And there is "Of Sorts for Provincials" with a lot of information on colonial life.

While somewhat dated, Neuman's, Encyclopedias of Colonial artifacts will also document much of the material culture.

Here on the forum, we have our topics on the historical clothing and materials of those time periods.
