I just found this forum, been shooting and huntin' with muzzleloaders for over half a century. I'm especially fond of flintlocks , but really like all of them,- my real weakness is for original guns - most recently a nice Deringer contract 1817 U.S. Common rifle. I used it for deer this past fall, though I didn't see a legal buck to shoot at ( a couple tough winters up here in northern Minnesota, and plenty of wolves...).. I did shoot a old cow buffalo with it in October. My older son used an S. North contract 1819 Hall rifle..

Sure nice to find this site.
