If it's not too bad, you may chase out the proper threads and reseat your nipple, but only if it seats to a snug fit. Otherwise you must open the bolster up with a slightly larger tap (available from Track of the Wolf and others) and use a slightly oversized threaded nipple instead. Danger- any modification may fail, and you must do these things at your own risk, etc., etc.

its a traditions st louis hawken i believe its threaded in the barrel
Best bet, as previously suggested, is likely the oversized nipple thread option that TOW offers as long as you have enough metal left in the hole and can drill and tap straight. If there is a lot of damage, you could possibly go up in size on the nipple thread.

While some claim they do it, removing and replacing a drum on a Traditions/CVA can be a challenge. I do not know what the breech of of your Traditions St Louis looks like, but here is something Zonie had posted many times showing what the CVA style Ardesa breech plug and drum look like. Thought is Ardesa uses the same design for the Traditions guns that they manufacture.

That rifle should use a drum, which is replaceable. A new one does need to be properly indexed so the nipple lines up with the hammer, so you might have to go to a smith if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself.

edit: oof. SDS posted while I was posting. Looks like it's not nearly as simple a deal on the CVA or Traditions guns.
