Update- I realize this is a bit late but maybe some other folks are going to visit the area. Remington has a Museum in Ilion, just a minute west of Utica- well worth a visit. The original muzzleloaders Remington built are there- seldom discussed on this form are the rifles from areas outside PA or southern Mtn Rifles. A half hour NW from Syracuse is Fort Oswego- well worth a visit. If you are there in the Fall, there are a lot of apple orchards along Rt. 20 to stop by.
"UPSTATE"- years ago that meant upstate from New York City- so along the Hudson. Utica and Syracuse were Central NY and Rochester-Buffalo Western NY.
