Help identifying my rifle

Has no markings. .40 cal rifled barrel. Was told it took several deer decades ago. Any idea?

Not much help but it looks to be of Spanish origin, 1970s? The bolster is distinctive but I can't remember where I've seen it before. I'm sure someone will recognize it soon.

If I saw this at a swap meet or reasonable price at auction, I'd grab it! Providing the bore/breech area wasn't corroded, etc., like with any gun you'd pick up.

Another one for Spanish, remove the barrel and look for marks underneath. I wouldn’t be surprised if the lock has no bridle.

No markings usually means Jukar, and a kit, hence the lack of a serial number, too. They were supplied as a set of components with barrels and breech plugs that you assembled, and were therefore exempt from the need to be proofed in the country of origin.

Has to have at least some proof marks somewhere. Look under the barrel like Phil said.

Most likely a 45 not a 40 unless it’s been rebarrelled or sleeved. I agree it’s most likely an ultra hi or jukar.

I haven’t seen one of these in maybe 35 or 40 years. I’ve held them…I’ve never actually owned one…were there any markings under the barrel? That’s a Jukar…If there are no markings under the barrel, then it was a kit…

.40 calibre is a bit surprising…mostly, they were .45 calibre, then later .50 calibre.

Think your right P.C. Dosen't appear to have any bridle srews showing on the nicely shaped Bar in Wood lock plate. Nice re-build job for someone. O.D..

It appears to me to be a percussion version of an Ultra-Hi rifle made by Miroku in the mid 1970s. I have the same rifle in flintlock.

I guess that settles it then. It's either Spanish or Japanese and either an Ultra-High, Jukar or CVA, and either a .40 or a .45 and possibly, but not necessarily kit built. Does that about sum it up?

Actually it should be a very good shooter if the bore's good.

The barrels on these guns are really accurate…don’t know why, but they are always great shooters

It's been years but, if memory serves mine was a green mountain or so I was told by an older set of eyes than mine who built long guns in my town. ??? matters not, It shot well & took several deer. I was a happy camper!!!

Just my 2 cents, but the trigger and trigger guard say Japan to me. Seems I've looked at that breach set up on a Japanese gun somewhere as well.

Not if it was supplied as s kit - no serial number either.

I think I have the same lock on my eibar spain. The trigger guard looks similar
