I am leaning towards the silver solder repair.A silver soldered joint would be easier to do and if it was clamped well it wouldn’t be very noticeable.
That bit of custom work on the grip is nice.
Thanks for the info. Would you have a pic and part number you could share ?With my experience recently trying to find a CVA Kentucky pistol trigger guard, odds are you won't find one of those either.
I settled for a "classic english" style trigger guard from muzzleloader builders supply.
A bunch fancier than the original, and a lot more inletting, but I really like it better.
Wow... that is a very generous offer andy52. Thank you !!!!If you are not in a big hurry you can send it to me and I'll braze it back together at no cost to you.
All I ask is that you pay the return shipping.
This is true, and if we had any real gunsmith in my town, I would go talk with them. There are these magical fellows called "gunsmith's" who are skilled in this musical trade of fixing such items. Why not seek one out to fix your problem? They do this for a living.
Very simple job, might take me 15 or so minutes, setup will take longer than the brazing.Wow... that is a very generous offer andy52. Thank you !!!!
I am in no hurry, and that will be better than me trying to make a different guard fit correctly.
I will shoot you a pm.
That's what makes this such a great forum. People like andy52 offering to help a brother ML shooter out.
Have a great day
Bill
