if you have a bolt that will screw in the end threads if you have them put the bolt in a vise if you have one and pull back from the vise in a straight line from the vise keeping the barrel inline with the ramrod....that way the muzzle is pointing away from you instead of it pointing toward if it's still loaded trying with a t-handle.....................bob

Been there, done that.

The fix is easy, loaded or not. Using a series of half hitches or clove hitches, tie a stout, small-diamter line to the protruding end of the rod, then tie the other end of the line to something solid. Grab the rifle above and below the trigger guard and point it at the solid object you're tied to. Now back up till you draw the line tight, then give a sharp tug to loosen the rod. Works best if the line isn't stretchy like nylon. If there's no load in the barrel, dispense with the solid object and merely grab the line with two hands and give the line a sharp tug.

coalkicken: were You running a cleaning patch down an empty bbl.?? If You squirt a bunch of WD-40 down the bore and stand the gun in the corner for an hour or so it will help ease the pulling. If You push a tight cleang patch down a fouled bore it will oft times hang up on the pull stroke, the oil will save breaking off the rod tip most of the time!Good luck and keep us posted.

had to take my 50. cal to Jackie Brown He put air to it and shot the jamer into the wall in his shop. learn a good one that time

Any liquid, such as water, poured down the barrel and left to set for a few minutes will make it much easier to pull the ramrod.

Ditto on what Joel said. My mentor has used coffee more than once to get a beginners patched rod unstuck from the barrel. One of them was me a few years ago!

Ya got moisten the patch before rammin her down a dirty barrel.

Thanks guys! I got it. I poured solvent down the barrel, came right out, although I took a shower in the solvent :)
