Hey guys I’d like to open this conversation back up as I have found out more about my Crockett that may influence accuracy.
History of it….. picked it up a few years back at a pawn shop in OK. Rifle appeared to be never fired, shop owner even had a bore scope he let me look at the bore and I saw no evidence of ever being used. One thing that stood out it had a wooden undersized ramrod which I broke recently. I just received my brass ramrod from log cabin shop and when it goes into the stock it gets so tight in a bind I can’t pull it back out with my hands. Had to wrap it with thin leather and yank with pliers! After finding the shoddy front sight and disassembling the rifle yesterday I’m wondering if I bought a kit gun that was poorly assembled. Does this me the stock needs inletting work to get the ramrod to line up correctly?
Thanks. Cullie
